Urban Chestnut Midtown Brewery and Biergarten is the original location of Urban Chestnut Brewing Company, on Washington Avenue in St. Louis. It has a large traditional German Biergarten and an intimate Taste Room. Google describes a local brewpub with light fare such as pretzels, meats and cheeses.
Urban Chestnut calls its approach Beer Divergency, a new world meets old world philosophy. The Revolution Series covers modern American craft beers, the Reverence Series covers classic European styles, and the Hallertauer Serie brings small Bavarian batches from its third brewery in Germany.
Year-round beers include Zwickel, a Bavarian lager, Schnickelfritz, a Bavarian weissbier, Zwickel Light, made with 100% barley malt, and STLIPA, an imperial IPA. The kitchen serves burgers, sandwiches, salads and pretzels, with vegan and vegetarian options.
The Biergarten is dog-friendly, and people of all ages are welcome when youth are supervised by an adult. Trivia runs Thursdays at 7pm at Midtown.
