Blue Jay Brewing Co is a lager brewery in Midtown St. Louis, three blocks from CITYPARK. Jay and Nicole Thompson own and run it, and the brewery was named VinePair's 2025 Brewery of the Year. Its beers are brewed in small batches and served in a family-friendly setting.
Little Birds is a Jamaican style lager brewed with cassava starch, and Time Wizard is a German style edel hell brewed with Little Lager. New Roots is an American lager made with 25% Kernza, a perennial grain related to wheat, while Monarchs is a decoction-mashed Munich dunkel.
The kitchen is run by Farm Spirit and serves farm-fresh food Wednesday through Sunday. The menu includes a double patty smashburger, a traditional bratwurst with Blue Jay beer mustard and a Union Loafers soft pretzel.
The tasting room opens right into the brewery, and there is a courtyard Biergarten. Kids are welcome, and dogs are welcome in the outdoor spaces.
