The Schlafly Tap Room is a restaurant, bar and brewpub on Locust Street in St. Louis, run by the brewery that calls itself St. Louis' Original Craft Brewery. Google describes a convivial microbrewery pairing hearty pub grub with its signature beers, plus outdoor seating. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in St. Louis on this site.
Schlafly's flagship Pale Ale is an English-inspired session ale that the website says helped spark the country's craft beer revolution. The Kölsch is fermented with a yeast strain from Gaffel Brewery in Köln, Germany, and the beer page lists it as a World Beer Cup Gold Medalist. Year-round beers also include Just A Bit Hazy IPA and Raspberry Hefeweizen.
The kitchen leans on beer in its cooking. The menu has house-made pale ale beer bread, hefeweizen-battered fish and fries, and sausage and kraut with a hefeweizen brat.
