Urban Chestnut Grove Brewery and Bierhall is a brewery and beer hall on Manchester Avenue in The Grove, St. Louis. It is a large, industrial style hall lined with long communal tables. Urban Chestnut built it for big groups and happy hours.
Urban Chestnut calls its approach Beer Divergency, pairing modern American craft beer with classic European styles. Lagers are the focus, from Zwickel and Zwickel Light to Stammtisch pilsner and Schnickelfritz weissbier. The company runs a third brewery in Germany's Hallertau region, near its brewmaster's hometown.
The Grove pours a wide range of Urban Chestnut beers plus its Bushelhead hard cider, wine and non-alcoholic options. Food comes from Fordo's Killer Pizza, which serves pizzas, salads and appetizers in the hall. The terrace and patio are dog-friendly.
