Breweries in Colorado

Colorado is a big brewery state, and almost every place on its list is a working brewery rather than a beer store. Denver holds about a sixth of them. Add Colorado Springs and Fort Collins, and roughly a third sit in those three cities.

The rest are spread across more than a hundred cities and towns, from Boulder and Longmont to Golden and Loveland. Where size is known, most are small microbreweries, and brewpubs make up much of the rest.

Bierstadt Lagerhaus in Denver puts traditional German lagers first. In Colorado Springs, Bristol Brewing Company sits in a former school. Cheluna Brewing Company in Aurora takes its name from chela, Mexican slang for beer, and luna, the Spanish word for moon.
