Frost Town Brewing is a brewery and taproom in downtown Houston. Its website calls it downtown Houston's only craft brewery. The name comes from Frost Town, one of the first neighborhoods in the city.
The team assembled in 2018 and chose the name after learning about the old neighborhood. The website says census records show one of Houston's earliest commercial breweries stood just across Jackson Street.
The year-round lineup on the website includes a kolsch, a west coast style IPA, a Vienna-style amber lager and a light beer. The beer page also lists medals from the Texas Craft Brewers Cup and the Fredericksburg Beer Festival. Rotating taps add more choices.
The taproom has a beer garden and plenty of air conditioning. Wine, cider and non-alcoholic drinks are on offer too. Dungeons & Dragons runs every Tuesday, and Plant Paradise, a houseplant nursery, sells the plants that decorate the brewery.
