About Wrightsville Beach Brewery
Wrightsville Beach Brewery is a brewpub in Wilmington with roots in the local marshes. Owner and brewer Jud Watkins grew up oystering with his father and grandfather in the Wrightsville Beach and Masonboro marshes. That is where the three of them dreamed up a brewery and oyster house that would nod to Wilmington's coastal history.
The beer list includes Airlie Amber Ale, Puppy Drum Pale Ale, Cobia Kölsch, Piping Plover Pilsner and Waterway IPA. Seasonal pours include Oysterman Stout and Shark & Stormy, a blonde ale made with freshly shredded ginger root.
Google describes a hip, contemporary brewpub serving pizza and Southern fare with the beer. Chef Rodney Peterson trained at the Culinary Institute of America at Hyde Park and ran kitchens in New York and New Jersey.
Jud and co-owner Amber Watkins built the business to give back to the local community and teach guests about environmental preservation. Private events have two spaces, the Barrel Room and the Brew House. More people have reviewed Wrightsville Beach Brewery on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Wilmington on this site.
