About Mad Mole Brewing
Mad Mole Brewing is a Wilmington brewery whose entire brewing process runs on solar energy. It brews on a seven-barrel electric system. The brewery says beer brewed by the sun, plus its mole theme, is what makes it unique.
Four friends and co-workers own it: Martin de Jongh, Ole Pederson, Chris Worden and Thomas Varnum. Ole and Martin spent the better part of a decade homebrewing first. The name takes the M from Martin and Ole, and the mad nods to the mad scientist, since brewing is more science than guessing game.
The lineup covers Belgians, IPAs and more, and the mole puns run deep. A recent draft list included Citra Mole Down New England IPA, No Country For Old Moles West Coast IPA, Trench Porter and Penitent Mole Belgian Trippel. Fruited Fridays bring new fruited takes on house beers.
