Casual Animal Brewing Co is a microbrewery and taproom on McGee Street in Kansas City. Its motto is laid back beers that tap into your wild side. The website says it stands for a small batch, fresh, local approach, with community ahead of self-interest.
That community idea shows up in the pint. Through its Local Motive program, a portion of each pint sold goes to a local non-profit. The Think and Drink series runs on the first and third Thursday of each month, and there is an Art Bar too.
There is no kitchen, only snacks like a charcuterie tray, jerky and pretzels. Outside food is always welcome. The Brick is right next door, and Buffalo State Pizza delivers straight to the taproom.
Six-packs sit in the cooler by the merch, and crowlers are filled to order. The smaller Original Taproom has two TVs for sports.

Does Casual Animal serve food?
There is no kitchen, just taproom snacks. You can bring your own food, order from The Brick next door, or have Buffalo State Pizza deliver to the taproom.
Can I take beer home?
Yes. Six-packs are ready to go in the cooler, and 25oz crowlers are made to order.
Can I reserve space for a group?
Yes, through the Event Request Form on the website, though it says it is a taproom first and not an event space. Saturday bookings are very limited and carry a space fee or bar minimum.

Tables are first come, first served. On weekends the taproom gets busy between 2pm and 5pm, so larger groups should arrive earlier. If you are bringing a big group for happy hour, the brewery asks you to call ahead.
