The Beer Trappe is a beer store on Euclid Avenue in Lexington, and you can drink there as well as shop. Its website places it in the historic Chevy Chase neighborhood and says it takes inspiration from beer bars across Europe.
Fourteen taps pour craft beer. St. Bernardus Abt 12, Weihenstephaner Hefe and Chimay Grande Réserve stay on all year, and eight taps rotate as soon as a beer runs out.
Hundreds of bottles are kept cold to enjoy on site or take home. The cellar collection has been curated since the shop opened in 2010, and its website counts over 250 vintages. Staff will also special order a beer if it is distributed in the area.
Beer School meets every Sunday at 6PM. It is led by the house Cicerone, Kevin Patterson, who is also a BJCP judge.
