Breweries in Kentucky

Louisville and Lexington carry most of the weight on the Kentucky beer map. Louisville has more than a quarter of the breweries and Lexington about an eighth. Add Newport, and close to half sit in those three cities.
The rest are spread across dozens of towns, including Covington, Paducah, Owensboro and Danville. Most places listed are breweries, mostly small microbreweries where size is known, and about a tenth are beer stores.
Several Kentucky taprooms work out of old buildings. Monnik Beer Company in Louisville took over the old Heitzman's Bakery building, and West Sixth Brewing in Lexington sits in a former bread factory. Ethereal Brewing brews on the site of the old James Pepper Distillery in Lexington's Distillery District.

Louisville makes the easiest base, and Lexington is a close second with plenty of stops of its own. On Baxter Avenue in Louisville, Gravely Brewing Co has several other breweries within about half a mile.
Newport and Covington each have a few stops of their own. Every brewery page on brewery.fyi has hours, a map and what to know before you go. Check it on the day, since taproom hours can change.
