Boise Brewing is a community-owned brewery on West Broad Street in Boise. Its website says more than 280 individual owners and businesses helped it open its doors in 2014. It also says it is one of only a couple of breweries in the country with an ownership program of this kind.
The idea started in 2012. Collin Rudeen came up with it after signing up for a community garden, and he wanted a fresh pint to pick up with his monthly box of vegetables. Lance Chavez joined as head brewer.
In 2023 the brewery took over the old Boise Weekly space next door and opened Broad Street Kitchen. The website calls the restaurant family-friendly and lists burgers, salads and sandwiches. The taproom and restaurant sit side by side.
The seasonal beer list includes Black Cliffs, an American stout, and Fair Dig, an Irish red ale. Trivia night is weekly, hosted by Geeks Who Drink, and the events page lists live music.
