Breweries in Idaho

Boise leads Idaho by a wide margin, with about a quarter of the places listed. Garden City and Coeur d'Alene come next, and those three cities hold about two fifths of the list. Hayden, Meridian, Post Falls, Moscow, Twin Falls and Pocatello each have a small group too.
Most places listed are breweries, with brewpubs and beer stores making up most of the rest. Where size is known, microbreweries lead and brewpubs are a strong second.
Payette Brewing Company in Boise has a large outdoor beer garden with a fire pit, and its theme runs to raft trips, skiing and campfires. Barbarian Downtown Beer Bar pours barrel aged and sour beers on West Main Street. Sockeye Brewing on Fairview Avenue doubles as a full restaurant with a beer garden.
Planning a brewery trip in Idaho
Boise makes the easiest base, since more breweries cluster there than anywhere else in the state. Garden City and Meridian add more stops of their own, and Barbarian Brewing runs a second taproom in Garden City.
