Oakland United Beerworks is a brewery and taproom on the waterfront in Oakland's Jack London District. It started in 2009 as Linden Street Brewery. The website says it was the first community-based production brewery in Oakland since Golden West Brewery closed in the 1950s.
The brewery moved to Jack London in 2017 and took the Oakland United name. Its beers often tell Oakland stories. Meet Me At Sweet's, an amber lager, honors the Sweet's Ballroom dance hall that opened in 1924.
Core beers include New Oakland Glow pilsner and Bay Shore Fog hazy IPA. East Bay Nights is a black lager that the site says won GABF silver in 2022. Drink Beer, Slay Dragon, a West Coast IPA, carries the spirit of former head brewer Andrew Ritter.
The two-level taproom looks over the brewery, and the patio has two fire pits. Families and dogs are welcome, and rotating food vendors and food trucks keep the patio fed. Trivia nights and live music fill the calendar.
