About Dokkaebier

From Dokkaebier's own website and its Google listing, read October 4, 2026.

Dokkaebier makes Korean-inspired beer, and Google lists it on 3rd Street in Oakland. Its slogan sums up the story: inspired by Korea, born in San Francisco and raised in Oakland. Youngwon Lee founded it in February 2020.

The name comes from dokkaebi, the playful, shape-shifting spirits of Korean folklore. The beers build Korean and Asian ingredients into classic styles. Expect kimchi cultures, yuza citrus, gochugaru, rice and peppercorn.

K-Beer is a light Korean rice lager. Kimchi Sour brings ginger, gochugaru and a warm chili finish, and Yuza Blonde is a bright blonde ale with yuza citrus. The Milk Stout adds cardamom and green peppercorn.

The company says its beers are brewed in Chicago and Milwaukee. They are sold in more than 300 stores, including Costco, Walmart, Whole Foods Market and Total Wine & More.
