About Foxtown Brewing

Foxtown Brewing is a brewpub in Mequon, built on the grounds of the Opitz and Zimmermann Brewery. Two German immigrant families started that brewery in 1857. Its website says features of the original building remain, including cream city brick and rough-hewn beams in the dining room and bar.

Under the building are two levels of lagering caves. The website describes them as barrel-vaulted, cream city brick caverns that were restored. Cave tours cover the history of brewing on the site.

The beers include IPAs, lagers, hefeweizens and Pilsners, and many are on tap. The kitchen serves lunch and dinner, from burgers and sandwiches to full entrees. Its website says the meat comes fresh from local farmers.

Outside, the Foxyard Pavilion Beer Garden hosts farmers markets and live music, and it can be rented for private parties. Google lists a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, restroom and seating.
