About Blue Bee Cider
From Blue Bee Cider's own website and its Google listing, read October 5, 2026.
Blue Bee Cider is a cidery and tasting room on Bethlehem Road in Richmond. Its website calls it Virginia's first urban cidery. The business was founded in 2013.
The ciders are made from rare and heirloom Virginia apples. The website says they range from bone dry to semi-sweet to dessert, and include single varietal apples and infusions. They are naturally gluten free, and you can taste them through guided tastings, flights, carafes or glasses.
Blue Bee has pioneered several cider styles in Virginia, including hopped, smoked and fruit-infused. The name comes from the Blue Orchard Bee, a native Virginia bee that pollinates apple blossoms in early spring.
The room is family- and dog-friendly, and the site lists a deck. Open mic poetry nights and a monthly tasting run through the year.
