About Center of the Universe Brewing Company
Center of the Universe Brewing Company is a brewery in Ashland, Virginia. Brothers Chris and Phil Ray started it in 2011 after brewing at home. More people have reviewed Center of the Universe on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Ashland on this site.
Two beers pour all year. Brewski is a German-style Dortmunder lager, and Pocahoptas is a West Coast-style IPA. A monthly seasonal adds something new, usually stronger or barrel aged.
The Trimester Lager Series follows the calendar. It runs from a lime Brewski through an Oktoberfest lager to a black lager in winter. Its website also lists medals from the Virginia Craft Brewers Cup and the World Beer Cup.
The week has a rhythm. Thursday Trivia and Tacos starts at 6:30pm, and Sunday is set aside for bingo and brunch. Leashed dogs are welcome on the patio.
