Idle Beer Hall & Brewery is a brewery and bar on Brooklyn Ave in San Antonio's River North area. It occupies the Cavender Cadillac sister building, an adaptive reuse space that kept a rafter sign reading 'Cultivating Your Confidence' from the property's earlier days. The 10-barrel brewery sits inside, visible from the Brooklyn Ave entrance.
The taproom pours its own beers alongside a full bar of liquor and wine. Recent drafts include Northstar, a German-style blonde ale, and Beach Please, a West Coast IPA loaded with Azacca, Mosaic and Ekuanot hops. Idle has also collaborated with Flix Brewhouse on Desert Comber, a Schwarzbier.
The 15,000 square foot space has two full bars, communal areas and a patio for leashed dogs. A projector shows Spurs games, and Google lists the spot as a bar and sports bar as well as a brewery. Guests under 21 are welcome until 8pm, after which it turns 21 and up.
Idle does not run a full kitchen, though it hosts occasional food pop-ups. Outside food is welcome, and staff point newcomers toward Make Ready Market next door; outside alcohol is not allowed under its license. The brewery also books private events through its website.
