Baerlic Brewing at the Barley Pod is a taproom, beer garden and food cart pod in Portland's Rose City Park neighborhood. It is one of three Baerlic taprooms, alongside the original southeast brewery and a spot on Alberta Street. The food carts are what set this one apart.
Its website lists carts including The Bulgarian Job, Firangi Dhaba, La Arepa Venezuelan Street Food, Gyro Kingdom and Flew The Coop Fried Chicken. Burgers, cheesesteaks, Thai and Mexican food are on the list too.
Ben Parsons and Richard Hall started Baerlic in 2014, and the beer is brewed in Portland and self-distributed around Oregon and Washington. The website says it pours several year-round beers and a changing list of seasonal, one-off and experimental ones. It also lists medals from the Oregon Beer Awards and the World Beer Cup, including a 2023 silver at the World Beer Cup for Night Howler Imperial Stout.
