About Baerlic Brewing Alberta
From Baerlic's own website and its Google listing, read September 30, 2026.
Baerlic Brewing Alberta is a taproom and beer garden on NE Alberta Street in Portland. Its website places it in Alberta's historic Art District. It is one of three Baerlic taprooms, alongside the original Southeast brewery and the Northeast Barley Pod.
Baerlic began in 2014, started by Ben Parsons and Richard Hall after years of homebrewing in a basement. The brewery calls its beer stubbornly independent and self-distributes it across Oregon and Washington.
The lineup mixes year-round beers with an ever-changing list of seasonal, one-off and experimental ones. Its website lists medals from the Oregon Beer Awards, the Best of Craft Beer Awards and the World Beer Cup. One is a 2023 silver at the World Beer Cup for Night Howler Imperial Stout.
There is no kitchen here. The website invites you to bring a picnic or order from the restaurants and food carts nearby. All ages are welcome until 9pm.
