Rohrbach Brewing Co. Buffalo Road Brewpub is a family-friendly brewpub and restaurant in Gates. It has been part of the neighborhood for over 35 years, serving American and German pub fare with Rohrbach beer. Rohrbach was founded in 1991 and calls itself Rochester's first craft brewery.
John and Patty Urlaub founded the company and named it after Rohrbach, a small town in Germany. It began in the German House on Gregory Street before growing into its two restaurants. Brothers Joel and Nathan Will own it today.
Rohrbach beers include the Classic Series, seasonals, limited small-batch releases and the barrel-aged Parting Glass Series. A full bar covers anyone who wants something else. Shareables include the Giant 24oz Pretzel with house mustard and cheese sauce, Inner Loop Onion Hoops and Chicken Finger Lakes.
The menu has a kids section and a section of pub and German favorites. Rohrbach says it donates roughly 15% of its profits each year. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Rochester on this site.
