About Utepils Brewing

From Utepils Brewing's own website and its Google listing, read October 4, 2026.

Utepils Brewing is a Minneapolis brewery on the banks of Bassett Creek, between the Harrison and Bryn Mawr neighborhoods. Its 18,000-square-foot site holds the Fernweh Taproom and an outdoor Beer Garden. The Norwegian name is pronounced ooh-ta-pilz, and it describes sipping the first beer outdoors under the warm sun after a long dark winter.

The beer is brewed with artesian spring water from historic wells in Minneapolis. The lineup runs from traditional lagers to Bavarian-style favorites. Featured beers include Ewald the Golden, a Bavarian style hefeweizen, Hoppestokk, a hoppy lager, and Loonar Eclipse, a Czech dark lager.

Local food trucks serve at the brewery, and the website posts a food truck schedule. Live music, weekly events and special festivals are part of the calendar. The website says watching the herons fish from the Beer Garden seems very popular.

Utepils calls itself a family-friendly establishment. Limited table reservations are available each day in the Fernweh Taproom for semi-private events.
