Atwater Brewery & Tap House is Atwater's Detroit taproom, on Jos Campau in the Rivertown neighborhood. Atwater was born here in 1997. Its website says the brewery was founded when Rivertown's streets were lined with abandoned warehouses, and that it helped build the area up.
The best known beers are Dirty Blonde, a wheat ale brewed with orange peel and coriander, and Vanilla Java Porter. Atwater Light, Atwater IPA, Atwater Lager and Detroit City Juice Hazy IPA are on the list too, with Christmas Ale in season.
Google lists the tap house as a brewpub and American restaurant, and the Detroit page posts its own menu. The taproom is open every day.
Atwater also runs taprooms in Grosse Pointe Park and Grand Rapids. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Detroit on this site.
