About Oxbow Blending & Bottling
Oxbow Blending & Bottling is the Portland outpost of Oxbow Brewing Company, a farmhouse brewery based in Newcastle, Maine. This East End warehouse is where Oxbow blends and packages all of its aged beers. More than 200 oak barrels and dozens of steel tanks hold mixed-fermentation and spontaneously fermented farmhouse ales.
About a quarter of the 10,000 square foot space is a bar and event room. It pours Oxbow and guest drafts and bottles, plus wine and Amaro. Gallery 49 shows rotating murals curated by Oxbow Art Director Will Sears.
The draft list leans on farmhouse ales and crisp lagers. Recent pours include Farmhouse Pale Ale, Luppolo, Loretta, Grand Royal, Izakaya and Sap Haus, a smoked lager with maple syrup. Bottles and cans include BAFPA Blanc and Bramble On.
Food comes from Duckfat, whose team the website calls James Beard award winners, and it shares the stone patio. The room hosts live music, DJ dance parties, tastings, fly-tying classes and yoga. Google lists a wheelchair accessible entrance and parking lot.
