About Akasha Brewing Company

From Akasha Brewing Company's own website and its Google listing, read September 30, 2026.

Akasha Brewing Company is a brewery and taproom on East Market Street in Louisville. Rick Stidham and Jerry Nawrocki founded it, and Rick has been brewing for over 30 years. It also brews Fehr's XL, a revival of a Louisville lager from a brewery that started in 1872.

The taproom has a 24-tap draft wall. Akasha brews 15 barrels at a time and serves up to 15 of its own beers on site. They run from the light, crisp Fehr's XL to a tart classic Gose, and its website says they are unfiltered and unpasteurized, with almost all vegan-friendly.

The room has board games, pinball tables, a few TVs and outdoor seating for nice weather. Well-behaved dogs are welcome. You can bring in food from the neighbors, Feast BBQ and Grind Burger Kitchen, or anything else you like.

Akasha sits in a tight cluster of Louisville breweries. West Sixth NuLu is 0.1 miles away, and Falls City Beer and TEN20 Craft Brewery are both 0.2 miles away.
