Mad Anthony Brewing Co is the original Mad Anthony brewpub, on Broadway in Fort Wayne. It opened as a microbrewery in 1998 inside The Munchie Emporium, a downtown restaurant and deli. The owners bought the restaurant a year later, and many locals still call it The Munchie.
Look up on the original side of the room. The ceiling carries the names of members of The Heineken Club, a leftover from the early Munchie days. The production brewery sits in a building out in the parking lot.
The kitchen serves full brewpub fare. Think IPA battered fish and chips, cheddar ale pretzels with beer cheese, scotch eggs, poutine and a long burger list. Weekday lunch specials run until 2pm for dine-in guests.
Local musicians play most Friday and Saturday evenings. More people have reviewed Mad Anthony on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Fort Wayne on this site.
