Open Outcry Brewing Company is a brewpub on South Western Avenue on Chicago's South Side. It makes its own beer, scratch cocktails and seasonal food in a warehouse space. The name comes from the trading floor, where dealers shout their bids aloud, and co-owner Jim Beck traded that way at the Chicago Board of Trade for 25 years.
Katie and Jim Beck took over in May 2024. Jim grew up on Hoyne, and the couple has since added a rooftop bar and expanded the brewhouse. The website says a new brewer came on so more of the house beer is always on tap.
The kitchen runs a seasonal, homemade menu, and Sunday brings a scratch brunch. One dessert pie uses a cherry sauce made with the house Prospectus porter. Bar managers Marissa and Kate build the cocktail list with house infused liquors.
Weeknights have a regular lineup. Tuesday is trivia with pint specials, and Wednesday is bingo, which the website calls a free, family friendly night. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Chicago on this site.
