SteelCraft Long Beach is an outdoor urban eatery built from repurposed shipping containers in the Bixby Knolls neighborhood. It opened in February 2017 and was the first SteelCraft, before locations in Bellflower and Garden Grove. SteelCraft says it picks local food and drink vendors to suit each community.
The Long Beach site lists four kitchens, craft beer, a coffee bar, juice and even a pet vending machine. Google describes window-serve eateries, communal seating and an industrial feel. Food is available outdoors, for take-out or by delivery.
Events fill the calendar. Long Beach hosts trivia nights, DJ sets and live music, and the Prime Run Club meets here on Thursday evenings.
Private events can take over the Bixby Patio, which seats 40 to 50 guests at umbrella-shaded picnic tables. The Pizza Patio fits 40 to 70 for semi-private gatherings. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Long Beach on this site.
