Barrio Brewing Co is a brewpub on East 16th Street, just outside Downtown Tucson. Its website calls it Arizona's oldest brewery, opened in 1991 by native Arizonans Dennis and Tauna Arnold. Since 2020 it has been 100% employee-owned, which the brewery says was a first for Arizona.
Barrio Blonde Ale is the flagship, and the website calls it southern Arizona's best selling craft beer. Citrazona IPA, Hipsterville Hazy IPA and Barrio Rojo, a Scottish ale, round out the core. The brewery says Barrio Rojo won bronze at the 2025 World Beer Cup and Nolan's Porter won gold at the 2008 GABF.
The kitchen serves a local take on bar food, from wings and big soft pretzels to sandwiches and a kids menu. Google describes a rustic-chic room with shuffleboard and up to 12 house beers on tap. Pints drop in price whenever a train passes the pub.
