Breweries in Vermont

Based on the breweries in the brewery.fyi register and their own websites, read September 2026.

Vermont's beer map is spread across dozens of towns. Burlington has the largest share at about a seventh of the places listed, with Stowe and Bennington next. Rutland, Middlebury, Brattleboro, Morrisville, St Albans City and Ludlow each have a small group too.

Most places listed are breweries, and beer stores make up most of the rest. Where size is known, microbreweries lead, with a good number of brewpubs and regional breweries.

Three of the most reviewed places in the state are in Stowe: Idletyme Brewing Company, von Trapp Brewery & Bierhall and The Alchemist Brewery. Foam Brewers and Zero Gravity Brewery in Burlington also draw plenty of reviews, as does Hill Farmstead Brewery in Greensboro Bend.

Planning a brewery trip in Vermont

Burlington makes the easiest base, and South Burlington adds a few more stops of its own. Stowe is the other strong pick, with several of the most reviewed breweries in the state.

Elsewhere the breweries sit in small towns, so plan each stop before you drive. Bennington, Rutland and Brattleboro each have a few stops of their own.

Every brewery page on brewery.fyi has hours, a map and what to know before you go. Check it on the day, since taproom hours can change.
