Deschutes Brewery (Warehouse) is a Deschutes Brewery site on SW Shevlin Hixon Drive in Bend. The company traces back to 1988, when Gary Fish opened a small brewpub in downtown Bend. He named it after the Deschutes River, which the website says is pronounced Da-Shootz.
That first year, the brewery sold 310 barrels of beer. Today the website says it sells more than 225,000 barrels a year, and its beer reaches all 50 states. Deschutes describes itself as family and employee owned.
The lineup runs across IPA, pale ale, lager, porter, stout and sour. The brewery also makes non-alcoholic versions of Fresh Squeezed, Fresh Haze and Black Butte. It sells kegs and even used barrels through its website.
