About Little Fish Brewing Company

Little Fish Brewing Company is a brewery and restaurant in Athens, Ohio. Its website says the co-owners opened it in the summer of 2015 in what was an abandoned mechanic's shop. The website also says the brewery made the first commercial batch of 100% Ohio-grown beer since at least Prohibition, in 2016.

The flagship is a saison called Saison du Poisson, which the website says is made with organic spelt. Most of the beers use Ohio-grown malt, and the draft list rotates. The website lists World Beer Cup and Great American Beer Festival medals for its barrel-aged sours.

Inside, the brewing equipment sits in the open space next to the bar and seating. Since 2017 the taproom has also been a farm-to-table restaurant with an ever-changing menu. The website says the Athens menu leans a little more casual.

Outside is a family-friendly beer garden that overlooks a hop arbor, fruit trees, a bike path and a reclaimed wetland. More people have reviewed Little Fish on Google than all but one other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Athens on this site, which makes it one of the most reviewed beer spots in town.
