About Bearded Bee Brewing Company
Bearded Bee Brewing Company is a brewery in downtown Wendell. Its website says it was born out of a love for bees and beer. Co-founder Derek Ayscue started out making mead from the honey of his own hives.
The taproom sits in the old Campen Livery building, part of the Wendell Historic District. The owners gave it a major historic renovation. The beer is brewed in small batches on a micro-brew system.
Bearded Bee pours its own beer along with guest ciders, ginger beer, mead and wine. Warmer months bring beer slushies. The website lists 2021 wins for Raleigh Magazine's Best Burbs Bar and WRAL's Battle of the Brews.
Dogs are allowed inside on a leash, and the website says they stay off the furniture. The calendar fills up with food trucks, trivia, live music and a run club. More people have reviewed Bearded Bee Brewing Company on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Wendell on this site.
