Ponysaurus Brewing Company is the flagship brewery, taproom, beer garden and pizzeria of Ponysaurus, in the Downtown East neighborhood of Durham. It began in 2013 in an attic above The Cookery in Durham. More people have reviewed Ponysaurus on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Durham on this site.
The brewers make traditional and experimental beers in American, Belgian and European styles. The website calls the approach forward-thinking and backward-tasting. The 6,000 square foot brewery runs a fifteen barrel brewhouse with its own lab and canning line.
The kitchen turns out pizza, salads and apps. You order food online and pick it up at the taproom side window, and the bar pours wine and cocktails as well as beer.
Dogs are welcome in the beer garden. You can book a brewery tour for your group or rent the upper patio for a private event.
