Newark Local Beer is an independently owned brewery and taproom on Broad Street in downtown Newark. It is open seven days a week and easy to reach by mass transit. The brewery offers daily tours along with its beer.
Owners Miller and Steve met in college. Steve got back into homebrewing after they moved out of New York City, and a backyard brewing shed and pub eventually grew into this taproom.
The tap list covers a lot of ground. Recent pours include Sidecar session IPA, Lite Rail Kolsch, Easy Rider hazy IPA, Farmgirl saison, Coal Train oatmeal stout and Ironbound extra pale. There are hard seltzers and non-alcoholic beers too.
There is no kitchen, but you are welcome to have food delivered. Well behaved dogs are welcome. More people have reviewed Newark Local Beer on Google than any other brewery, taproom or beer shop in Newark on this site.
