Departed Soles Brewing Company is a brewery and tasting room on Bay Street in Jersey City. It is known for gluten free beer. The website says it is New Jersey's first and only brewery offering a large gluten free selection, brewed in dedicated tanks and canned on a dedicated line.
The brewery opened in 2015, and its story is a tribute. Founder Brian set out to honor his late best friend Chris, and he trained as a brewer with a focus on gluten free beer. The website says the gluten free beers have since won several international medals.
It is not only a gluten free brewery, though. About 60% of the list contains gluten, from hazy IPAs and sours to lagers, English-style ales and heritage styles. The flagship is an Imperial Belgian Ale.
