About Bitter Root Brewing

Bitter Root Brewing is a brewpub on Marcus Street in Hamilton, Montana. Tim Bozik started it in 1998 in a small automobile garage, using dairy equipment he converted into brewing tanks. Its website says it is one of the oldest breweries in the state.

The brewery makes and packages all of its beer on site. It brews 35 to 40 different beers a year with a focus on traditional styles. The taproom has 16 on draft, and packaged beers are sold across Montana and Northern Idaho.

The kitchen cooks most dishes from scratch, using fresh and local ingredients when it can. The menu is built on pub favorites, with vegan, vegetarian and healthy options, and it changes with the seasons. Family friendly is one of the two pillars the website names, so kids are welcome.

Trivia night runs on Wednesdays, and live music plays on Thursday evenings. Bitter Root Brewing is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Hamilton on this site.
