About Canyon Creek Brewing
Canyon Creek Brewing is a brewery and taproom on Gabel Road in Billings. Its website calls it Billings Montana's first brewery built from the ground up. The doors opened in December 2013.
The story starts with brewer Ron Kalvig, who began making his own recipes in a converted garage. Friends kept asking when he would open a brewery. Construction on the taproom began in 2011 and took two years.
The building is roughly 6,000 square feet. It has plenty of seating, two bars, two patios and a hand-crafted outdoor fireplace. The website says it is one of the few taprooms on the West End of Billings.
The website says the staff is always ready to give a recommendation or two. Wine and other packaged products are served too, though they are not made in house.
