Schlafly Bottleworks is a restaurant, bar and brewpub on Southwest Avenue in Maplewood, run by Schlafly. The website calls Schlafly the original craft brewery of St. Louis. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in St. Louis on this site.
The flagship is Schlafly Pale Ale, an English style copper ale. The Kolsch is fermented with a yeast strain from Gaffel Brewery in Cologne, and the website says it won gold at the World Beer Cup. Just A Bit Hazy IPA, Raspberry Hefeweizen made with real raspberries, and Oatmeal Stout round out the year round list.
This is a full restaurant. The menu runs from Bavarian pretzel sticks and beer cheese soup to smash burgers, tacos and pizzas, with gluten-free buns and crusts on offer.
You can book a table, order pickup or join a brewery tour through the website. Bottleworks also hosts trivia nights.
