Kansas City Bier Company is a German-style brewery with a Bierhalle and Biergarten on West 79th Street in Waldo. This is the original KC Bier Co., opened in 2014, and the bier is brewed right here. Its motto is "We put the i back in Bier."
The taps lean on fresh, unpasteurized German styles. Expect Helles Lager, Dunkel, Hefeweizen, Pure Pils and Festbier, plus Never Say IPA and a gluten-free apple cider. The brewery says it uses only four ingredients and a German brewing process dating back to 1516.
The Bierhalle has full service at long communal tables and benches, with pretzels, sausages and sandwiches. Outside, the Biergarten welcomes all ages and has a dog-friendly seating area. You can bring your own food into the Biergarten.
Brewery tours, music bingo and a monthly jam session fill the calendar, and the brewery hosts KC Oktoberfest. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Kansas City on this site.
