About Rolling Oak Brewing Co
Rolling Oak Brewing Co is a brewery on Norway Street in Grayling, Michigan. It is housed in the town's historic ice house. Its website says the century old building once stored ice from Lake Margrethe, packed in sawdust and loaded onto refrigerated railcars.
Rolling Oak serves only original recipe beers, and that includes its root beer. The flagships on its website include Range 13 IPA, Peanut Butter Porter and GoodAle. GoodAle is a cream ale brewed with donuts from a local bakery.
Owner and brewmaster Jason Malone grew up in the Grayling area and has brewed since 2009. The brewery bought the ice house in 2014 and kept its character. The bar is milled from oak from Higgins Lake, and the tables are made from old electrical spools.
