About Bog Iron Brewing

Bog Iron Brewing is a production brewery and taproom in Norton, Massachusetts. It was started by three homebrewer friends with more than 50 years of combined brewing experience. The first beer was brewed in the building in 2013.

The taproom pours only beer made in the building, with the brewing operation in the back. The name comes from bog iron, a raw ore that was mined and smelted across southern New England starting in the 1600s.

A full kitchen serves a food menu, and the taproom has a beer garden. Families with children are welcome. Dogs other than service animals are not allowed in the taproom or beer garden.

Staff built much of the room by hand, including the bar and the floor. Furniture with barrel staves was made from barrels used in brewing. A private function space called the Den is open for parties, and a brewery cat named Jax keeps an eye on the parking lot.
