About Monument City Brewing Company

From Monument City Brewing's own website, read October 1, 2026.

Monument City Brewing Company is a brewery in Baltimore's Highlandtown neighborhood. Its website says brothers Ken and Matt Praay founded it, and that the idea was born on a hike along the Appalachian Trail. The brewery dates to 2014.

The taproom sits in Baltimore Brewers' Haven, which it shares with Key Brewing. The space has exposed beams and rustic wood accents. The website says the taproom gives you a front row seat to the German-inspired brewhouse.

The beer focuses on IPAs and lagers. The flagship is 51 Rye, a rye IPA made with 51% rye grain and dry hopped entirely with Citra. Haus Lager is a German-style pilsner that the site calls a fan favorite.

Dogs are allowed inside and outside, and all ages are welcome. There is outdoor seating, board games and off-street parking.
