About Foundation Brewing Company
Foundation Brewing Company, which its website calls Foundation Brewing & Pizza, is a brewery on Industrial Way in Portland that pairs its beer with Detroit-style square pizza. Owners John and Tina Bonney grew up in Metro Detroit. The brewery opened on the edge of Portland in 2014.
Square pizza means a light, airy crust with a crunchy bottom and a crispy cheese wall. All dough is made in-house, and every pizza can be ordered with gluten-free dough. The Puttanesca Tomato Pie is vegan, and the kitchen is nut-free.
Featured beers include Epiphany, a hazy double IPA, and Fetch, a hazy IPA. Raspberry's My Jam is a fruited sour. Every canned beer is sold in 4-packs and as singles.
The patio stays open year-round, with a large tent in the warmer months and heaters and fire tables in winter. Dogs are welcome out there on a leash. The events calendar brings live music, trivia and Music Bingo, and Google lists wheelchair accessible entrance, parking, restroom and seating.
