About Definitive Brewing Company
Definitive Brewing Company is a brewery and tasting room on Industrial Way in Portland, across the street from Allagash. The team converted a former scaffolding company into its production brewery and tasting room. It opened here in 2018.
A group of friends and family with ties to Lake Cobbosseecontee in Manchester, Maine, formed Definitive in 2017. The website says the name is a daily reminder to chase a better batch every time. There are no tours, but the brewing operation sits right beside the tasting room in plain view.
Over 20 taps pour New England IPAs, double fruited sours, pastry stouts and crisp lagers. Contee is the house kölsch, and Definitive makes its own real fruit hard seltzer. Wine, cider and NA options round out the list.
The week has a rhythm, with Bingo for a Cause on Wednesdays and trivia on Thursdays from 6pm to 8pm. Friday is Flight Night, and many events are all ages. Google lists a wheelchair accessible entrance, parking lot, restroom and seating.
