Urban South Brewery is a brewery and taproom on Tchoupitoulas Street in New Orleans. Founder Jacob Landry is a Cajun from Southwest Louisiana who fell for Belgian, English and German beer during a year in Europe. The brewery's motto is "We take laid back seriously."
Urban South pairs European brewing heritage with bold new American styles, aimed at easy drinking in the Southern heat. The flagships are Holy Roller hazy IPA, Lime Cucumber Gose and Paradise Park lager. Po-Boy Amber, Who Dat golden ale and seasonals like Oktoberfest join them.
Beyond beer, the brewery makes THC seltzers and non-alcoholic versions of Holy Roller and Charming Wit. The outdoor area has the Urban Smash food truck and more than 10 picnic tables with umbrellas.
You can take a brewery tour or a founder's tour, reserve a table, or book a party. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in New Orleans on this site.
