Sun King Brewery on College Avenue is the downtown Indianapolis brewery that Sun King calls its Mothership. It is the only Sun King location that offers a tour with a tasting. The company now has tasting rooms across Indiana, at the Indianapolis airport and in Sarasota, Florida.
The year-round lineup includes Sunlight Cream Ale, Osiris Pale Ale, Wee Mac Scottish-Style Ale and GFJ IPA. Seasonals rotate through, and the 2026 Pickle Beer was brewed to mark 17 years of Sun King.
Sun King says its tasting rooms are casual, and you can watch the production brewing while you drink. Google also lists a beer store here. Every Wednesday night, Hambone's Trivia runs free games downtown, and all ages can play.
Groups can rent space for private events through the Sun King event team. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in Indianapolis on this site.

Can I tour Sun King in downtown Indianapolis?
Yes. The event calendar lists Indianapolis brewery tours at 1pm and 3pm. Private tour and tasting sessions for 10 to 20 guests are offered only at the downtown location, and each one samples six Sun King beers.
Is there trivia at Sun King downtown?
Yes. Hambone's Trivia runs every Wednesday at 7pm. It is free, and all ages are welcome to play.
Can I reserve a table?
No. Sun King says its tasting rooms do not take formal reservations for any size party. Private event space is booked through the event team instead.
