About Hickory Creek Brewing Co
Hickory Creek Brewing Co is a microbrewery on South Schoolhouse Road in New Lenox. It began in a brick milk house about 150 years old on owner Gary Meyer's property, and its website says he grows some of his own hops there.
Meyer opened the taproom in 2018 with four beers on tap. The brewery moved to its current home and opened again in 2023 with 14 beers. Its 7-barrel system brews between 1,000 and 1,500 barrels a year.
The beer list rotates, so not everything is on at once. It has included Collar County Kolsch, a hazy IPA called Prairie Juice, a rye ale called Foxxy and an Irish red named Danny Boy. Fruit from trees on the property goes into some of the beers.
The FAQ page calls it family- and dog-friendly, and says food trucks visit when they can. Free live music runs on most Friday and Saturday evenings, with open mic every Tuesday. It is one of the most reviewed beer spots in New Lenox on this site.
