Suncatcher Brewing is a brewery in Chicago that opened in November 2024. It comes from Matt Gallagher, a founding partner in Half Acre Beer Company. The website says he wanted a return to the intimacy of the pub brewery.
The beer is pub style. The website describes balanced, sessionable ales and lagers. Most of the malt comes from Sugar Creek Malt in Lebanon, Indiana, and some of the hops are grown by Hop Head Farms in Baroda, Michigan.
The brewhouse has a story too. The 10 hL direct fire system was built in 1998 and first ran at a Rock Bottom in La Jolla, California. Six serving tanks feed the taps.
There is a patio, and dogs are allowed there on a leash. Kids are allowed anywhere. Vinyl Night on Thursdays invites you to bring in your favorite records to spin.
